Our client is a leading domestic manufacturer of electric vehicles in Vietnam.

Client Challenges & Requirements

Leading the eco-friendly trend by shifting to electric vehicle production represents a dramatic and risky transformation for our client. This shift poses challenges in changing production with entirely new technologies. The overall engine assembly solution must be newly designed and rapidly developed to keep pace with the company’s transformation.

With the goal of dominating the electric vehicle market in Vietnam and expanding competitively into neighboring regions, the assembly line capacity requirement is one of the project’s significant challenges. Accordingly, the line must achieve a minimum capacity of 25,000 vehicles in the first year and expand to 100,000 vehicles in the following year. This means the line must ensure high precision and be easily and quickly scalable.

Moreover, electric vehicle production technology still needs to be widely used globally, with only a few major players like Tesla and BYD involved in research, development, and production. Thus, building an assembly line for electric vehicle engines is also challenging.

In addition to standard assembly technologies, this electric vehicle engine assembly line uses three core technologies to ensure quality, precision, and efficiency:

  • EOL Testing Technology: Techniques for leak testing, defect detection, and identifying imperfections in the production line.
  • Aging Technology: Product aging – Core technology that enables cars and motorcycles to withstand harsh environmental conditions.
  • Cleanroom Technology: The class 9 standard for electric vehicle battery and engine production per EU standards.

Challenges During Implementation

This is Vietnam’s most significant overall solution project for engine assembly and automobile production. The engine assembly project includes over 100 processes with 40 complex station designs.

During the project implementation, designs were continuously changed to accommodate client modifications, and there was pressure to complete the project on time. However, with experience from many previous projects, we have successfully met and flexibly accommodated all client requirements.

Successfully built and deployed the engine assembly line, ensuring the required output capacity and meeting efficiency and production precision standards. 

This line not only operates stably but is also designed to easily connect with advanced quality inspection systems, helping to detect and eliminate errors quickly.
